Our Story

Our Story

Hello and welcome to our little corner of the internet! We’ve launched this website and blog as a way to document and share our experiences in life. From travel to quirky days out, we’ll be sharing everything right here.

Having met way back in 2011, Debs and I have been together for almost 13 years, living together for 12, engaged for 5 and married for 2. We’ve been through countless highs and lows, had thousands of dinners together and have travelled to over 15 different countries within those years. Let me tell you how it all began…

When Debbie and I met, I was just shy of 18 years old and I had absolutely no idea what I wanted out of life. All I knew was, I wanted to get a job and earn enough to start driving and have a decent lifestyle. I’d handed out CV’s almost everywhere but having missed the last 6 months of high school and being painfully shy I struggled to find anything that I wanted to do, or who wanted to employ me.

A friend of mine, Sydney (who you’ll hear about in several of our blog posts) was also looking for a new job and told me about a restaurant that was opening-up in the village she lived with her parents. This restaurant was brand new and had a tonne of positions available. With the confidence of not going it alone, I decided to call and organise an interview. This was the first time I met Debs, who turned out to be the owner of said restaurant and evidently my boss.

Debbie had a unique upbringing in comparison to most. Her dad had an unusual job after starting out in stocks and shares from a young age, he had evolved into something called a ‘shell seeker’. By the time Debs was in her early twenties, her dad had begun buying small, failing or run down businesses, turning them around and selling them on for profits.

After travelling the world on her own for several years, Debs had reached an ultimatum. She wanted to start something new and had started to look into living and working abroad. She spent months researching and debating on where to go, and what to do, when one day she stumbled across a listing on her dad’s desk. The advert was for a small, run down yacht club in the middle of a small village about an hour from Colchester (where she was living). Something about it caught her eye and it opened-up a discussion with her dad about what he was going to do with the clubhouse. As it turns out, he was looking for a partner. Someone who would handle the day to day running of this quirky little place in the middle of nowhere. A concept that would change Debs’ life forever.

So fate had worked it’s magic. Debs and I met through work in April 2011 and by Christmas that year we were officially an item. Over the years, the run-down yacht club became many things. A bar, a restaurant, a wedding venue and finally in 2018 the club was closed-down to make way for luxury homes that overlooked the river, which was always the end goal.

From here, Debs and I began our journey into entrepreneurship and launched our flagship business: The Infinite Management Co. Since then we’ve done a little bit of everything from social media management to online wedding planning and more recently virtual PA work. Although we loved our businesses, we knew that our ultimate goal was to earn a living from a passive income and in early 2023 our dreams became a reality. Earlier this year we launched our first property business, Salt and Sands and then our second: Pride Escapes.

We’re incredibly excited for what our future holds, and we’re grateful to have you here along the way. We hope that you find our content here helpful to your own travel plans and lifestyles and can’t wait to get to know some of you in the years to come.

Thanks for reading.
